The City and County Commissions will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Williston City Hall to consider adoption of the Williston Comprehensive Plan, Transportation Plan, and US Highway 2 Corridor Study. Advisory Committee met at 1:00 p.m. on September 24, 2009 to discuss the concepts for the Highway 2 West
Bypass and to review projected traffic volumes and suggested future roadway
improvements. They also reviewed input received at the Public Forum.

The Planning Advisory Committee met from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. on June 2, 2009 to
discuss the revised draft land use plan. The group agreed that the land use plan
is ready to use as the basis for future traffic projections. The draft land use

April 7, 2009
The Planning Advisory Committee met from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on April 7, 2009 to discuss the two land use plan alternatives that were presented the previous night at the Public Forum. The Committee listened to the comments received at the Public Forum, and discussed a number of issues relative to the roadway system, waste water treatment locations, various land use issues, and possible redevelopment areas. The Committee also reviewed information regarding future acreage consumption based on anticipated city growth, and received information about the ease of expanding infrastructure in various locations around the city.

The Highway 2 Corridor Committee met from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on June 2, 2009 to discuss the conceptual alternatives developed for the Highway 2 West Bypass. The focus of the conceptual improvements was to improve access across Hwy 2 for local traffic, while maintaining or improving safe and efficient traffic operations along the corridor. The group discussed conceptual alternatives that involve a combination of limiting access to the Hwy 2 at some locations and enhancing the ability to cross or access Hwy 2 at other locations. Options for a grade separated pedestrian crossing were discussed, either as a stand-alone pedestrian tunnel or bridge, or in combination with a vehicular grade separation. A meeting was held with city and state department of transportation officials to discuss issues associated with the Highway 2 West Bypass and potential options for improving upon existing accesses and intersections along the highway, and for improving upon access to the area west of the highway.
